Training

Diving into this, I never thought I would have the difficulties I have had putting this gang together. Sure, I've got experienced gangers, but what does it take to get them to work together. Even to get them all to wear our colors seems difficult. And those juves! Nicolai can't seem to get through to the rest of them that they have to be willing to die to live in the hive...but at least they are cheap to outfit...

Recruiting the Coil.

Tesla Deadfield's the name. I'm a underhive ganger and it's time for me to gather a gang. I tried over there in Unrest, but all I saw were those filthy Goliaths and Van Saar. But here in Smuggler's Hole, I've found some worthy Cawdor to fill my ranks. Let me give you a rundown of my men, they may not look like much, but they'll fight and die at my word, and that's all I ask. And I do pay them well and give their families a safer place to call home, so it's the least I can ask.

So let me tell you a little of each of them.

Viktor is the largest man I have ever beheld, easily 300 pounds of muscle, but he's got a head on him too. He was sitting at the bar, slamming back beers like water. On seeing me, he recognized a fellow and waved me over. We found a seat away from the crowd and talked, as Viktor continued to receive a stream of beer from the bar wenches. I asked if he had ever been to the wastes and he laughed. "A man like me, of course i have been, returned, and grown richer from it." I asked who he scavenged with and he looked down and told me a story of a brutal slaughter at the hands of an Enforcer squad. He and one of the juves he had been running with were the only ones to survive, and only because he carried the juve on one shoulder and his Heavy Bolter on the other, firing the entire way out. After telling me the story, he called out in a booming voice and a young man came over from the bar. Here was a fresh one, but he looked like he might have seen at least a few rounds fly. Viktor introduced me to Nicolai, his younger brother, and the juve he pulled out of his last fight. I offered Viktor work, and he agreed, with a caveat. I had to take Nicolai on as well. I agreed and hired my first Coils.

Mikhail and Ivan were a little easier to find. Looking into the traders around town, I was pointed to these two. I think one of em might be unhinged, but who can tell the difference with these two. Twins is what they are, and they know how to handle those Autoguns. As long as they keep together, they are a pair I would not cross. I discussed the arrangements with Ivan, as Mikhail's eyes were distracted by a young lady in the traders shop across the way. Ivan and I agreed and they joined.

Dimitri fancies himself a gunsmith, though he's better with putting rounds downrange than with putting the guns back together. He had a shop, though it was left in ruins by a gang who had lost half their numbers after his wares had failed on them in a firefight. I found him firing his shotgun, one longarm he had done a beautiful job on, into the air and cursing the ancestors of those who destroyed his shop. I offered him a chance for revenge if he worked for us, though I did tell him to keep his hands away from our weapons, his "improvements" were a little much for my Coils.

Boris, Konstantin, and Yuri were in another bar, weapons slung at their sides and chips piled high on the table. I saw they were running low on creds, so I bought into the game. After having a few drugged drink delivered to the other players, they nodded off and we were down to 4. I easily out bid them, causing them to loose their entire purses and then...only then, I offered them work. They recognized an underhive vet and decided to take a look at our hideout, though I told them if the didn't join us, I would remove thier tongues to make sure the location was never shared. They agreed, and were pleased with the lair. In fact, it's been a battle to get them to ever leave since.

Paval, Vladamir, and Fyodor are all recent additions to the Coil. They may or may not work out, the next few missions will see. I haven't gotten to know them, as they drifted to us instead of us seeking them, a few wet behind the ears Juves is all they are, though I hope they can at least put the rounds downrange. Nicolai should at least be able to get them ready for it, even if they're going to have to be blooded to know for sure.

Stick around and listen in, you'll hear some amazing tales as I lead these gangers through the darkest parts of the underhive...and bring back the rarest of goods.
